I grew up in Northern Minnesota, where I played for the Duluth East Greyhounds before heading off to the Lincoln Stars of the USHL. Having won the MN State HS Championship and the Clark Cup Championship (USHL), I later accepted a Division 1 scholarship in the WCHA. I played for the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves before heading to Europe to play. After my playing days were completed, I ventured into the world of coaching in 2004 back in Alaska, where my teams won a couple of State Championships before heading to Europe to coach in 2008.

The last 5 years I served as the director of player development in the KHL for the club HC Lokomotiv before joining EVZ Zug. During my time in HC Lokomotiv, as a group, we were able to accomplish:

  • 21 - players drafted in the NHL

  • 4 - Undrafted players sign NHL contracts

  • 2 - Kharlamov Cup’s (MHL A Championship)

  • 2 - Kharlamov Cup Silver Medals

  • 1 - MHL B Championship

  • 2 - Junior World Cup Championships

  • 2017-2020 Russian Hockey Federation Coaching Conference Speaker

  • 2018-2021 World Hockey Forum Speaker

Though everything, my true passion lies within the field of education for coaches, who will be developing the game’s future players.

Sweden is where he calls home during the off-season with his wife and two children.

“This game has given me a lot, but being able to have a supportive family through the various moves supporting my dream and career is what makes the whole journey worth it.

Purpose of Neuro Hockey

Neuro Hockey was created because my main interest lies in developing Hockey IQ. With a degree in neuroscience, I want to educate coaches on how the brain operates and how they can design trainings to implement the game's cognitive aspect along with the physical.

There is no need to let the development of Hockey IQ happen by chance. We must be better than that because we have all taken the oath to serve the athletes that entrust us.

At the end of the day, all movement and decisions start within the 6 inches between our ears.
